Good news from The Fairtrade Forum! We are thrilled to announce that the school has been awarded the Fairtrade Schools Award for the second year running by the Fairtrade Foundation. Last year’s Fairtrade Forum were tireless in their efforts to lead the school in new ways of promoting Fairtrade products and showing how communities in developing countries can be transformed asa result.
Their external assessor looked at our portfolio of evidence and said “Well done to everyone at All Souls for the hard work and commitment that you have shown over the last year in your support of Fairtrade. It is great to see that you have an active steering group who are very involved in coming up with ideas and planning for your activities. You have used Fairtrade products where ever you can in your school, and often in innovative ways such as the ice lollies and Christingles.
I have no hesitation in approving the renewal of your Fairtrade Schools Award and look forward to seeing what you do next year. Congratulations!”
As a celebration, and for this week only, we shall we selling small packets of fairtrade sweets alongside fruit and cereal bars on the Friday stall. Members of this year’s forum are pictured getting ready.
